Additional Information:
The Shepherd Centre is a charitable organisation that helps children who are deaf or have hearing loss learn how to listen and speak. Our early intervention program is designed to make the most of the crucial first five year of a child’s life and gives them the best chance of entering mainstream school with age-appropriate language skills. We focus on providing parents with information, support and education through our team of Audiologists, Listening and Spoken Language Therapists and Child and Family Counsellors. In addition we provide a range of innovative group programs to support the development of listening, speech, language and social skills in children with hearing loss. We also have an integrated cochlear implant program where children are supported every step of the way by our paediatric audiologists and Ear Nose and Throat surgeons.
We offer a range of NDIS funded services and programs for children with hearing loss throughout their primary and high school years. Individual and group programs are offered that provide social skills support, speech and language intervention, literacy development as well as consultative services with a child’s school.
