CAMHS provide a range of therapeutic counselling services for children and adolescents between birth and 18 years of age and their families including assessment, counselling, consultative and group programs, training and development, prevention and promotion activities for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural or psychiatric problems. See website links for further information available.: EntryProcedures Parents and guardians may telephone or visit the CAMHS service closest to them. Adolescents over 16 years of age may contact CAMHS without parent or guardian consent or knowledge. School Counsellors, General Practitioners and other service providers may also contact CAMHS however contact from the parent/guardian or young person (if over 16 years of age) is usually required to formalise the referral.
