The Infant and Child Mental Health Services provides access to timely consultation, mental health assessment and evidence based treatment for infants and children aged between 0—14 years who are at risk of or experiencing a significant mental disorder and their families.
This includes early detection of issues that if left unattended are likely to lead to the development of behavioural and emotional disorders and mental illness later in life.
Who can refer to Infant and Child Mental Health Services?
· Concerned parent, carer or guardian may refer.
· Person's GP, paediatrician or community agency may refer.
· Emergency services such as the police, ambulance, or emergency department may refer.
· Maternal child health centres, kindergartens, schools and family services may refer after discussion with the parent or guardian.
Please note : a referral specifically for the purpose of Autism assessment requires a referral from a paediatrician.
What do infant and child mental health services provide?
· Evidence based, family inclusive mental health treatment.
· Phone advice and onward referral to other agencies if required.
· Mental health assessment.
· Autism assessment.
· Children and Schools Together program—early intervention program in kinder and schools.
· Secondary consultation or education for community agencies.
· Interagency case planning.

Provides access to timely mental health assessment, consultation and evidence based treatment to young people aged 15-25 years in a youth friendly, family inclusive manner.
Services from the team range from detection and intervention for those know to be 'at risk' of developing a mental illness through to treatment for those experiencing mental illness.

· Young person may refer themselves.
· Concerned family member may refer.
· Person's GP or another community agency may refer.
· Emergency services such as police, ambulance or emergency department may refer.
· Schools, universities or employers may refer after discussion with the young person.
What do Youth Mental Health Services provide?
· Phone advice or onward referral to other community agencies if required.
· Mental Health Assessment.
· Single session work.
· Brief intervention for up to 6 weeks.
· Evidence based, family inclusive, recovery focused mental health treatment.
· Secondary consultation or education for community agencies.
· Interagency care planning.
What can you expect from Youth Mental Health Services?
· We aim to be easily accessible to young people and see them as quickly as possible.
· The flexible service can be offered in a person's home, at a school, community health centre or an agreed environment where the young person feels comfortable.
· An early intervention focus means a young person can access help when symptoms first start to emerge rather than waiting until a crisis.
· We value working with community agencies for the best outcome for the young person.

This is a community-focused team which provides specialist mental health services for people aged 65 years and over.
It treats people with an existing mental disorder; those who develop a mental disorder later in life and those who have severe behavioural problems associated with dementia.The Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS) Vic has been established to support carers and care workers of people with dementia who experience behaviours of concern that may impact on their care. DBMAS is an advice, assessment, intervention, education and specialised support service available 24 hours a day.
