The Financial Counselling Program is a free and confidential service.  The financial Counselling Program does not offer monetary assistance.

A financial Counsellor can:


-- Give information about laws relating to bills & debts.

-- Help client work out payments with creditors.

-- Tell you about government assistance, which may be available.

-- Explain to client what they can do if they can't pay bills, fines or debts.

-- Help client with some consumer problems.

-- Help client organise their budget.

-- Give information about bankruptcy.

-- Refer client to other organisations they may help.

-- We only give clients advice about alternatives - the client makes their own decisions.

-- Financial Counsellors are not lawyers, accountants or financial planners.

Mallee Family Care - Swan Hill All Services

An outreach service is provided to the Kerang and surrounding area every second Tuesday and Buloke LGA once a month.
By phoning 1800 632 263 an assessment is made as to the urgency of the client's issues and an appointment scheduled accordingly. This is a phone service only.

Mallee Family Care - Kerang

Conference is on call available 24H. Message service available if call not answered.
Assistance in form of food, bills/accounts, material items and furniture, rental, bonds, car registration, and medical.
Available to chat with those needing a hand up. 
Services are provided for free by volunteers but donations of any kind are welcome.

Specialist programs include services for problem gamblers and drought affected communities. Financial Counsellors are trained counsellors who provide free and confidential information to families and individuals who are experiencing financial difficulties. 

St Luke's Anglicare - Maryborough Office

Free and confidential service. Service includes: - advice about laws relating to payment and recovery of debts - negotiation and advocacy - ensuring people are receiving correct entitlements. Financial Counsellors can: - explain what people can do if they can't pay debts - help people work out their payments with creditors - inform on government assistance that may be available - provide information on bankruptcy - assist with credit and loan issues

Services provided: Financial Case management, Financial Counselling, Budgeting, Menor Support, Self help small group educational programs that empower clients to make choices in becoming more self-dependant - financially, emotionally and socially.
