Western Children's Health Centre Sydenham

Occupational Therapy service for children aged 0-16 years of age with developmental delays, learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. 

Working collaboratively with children, their families, their significant others such as schoolteachers and any health professionals involved.

Only About Kids Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapist (OT) visits clients in their home and completes a home and functional assessment to identify any activities they may be having difficulty with. The OT can recommend aids, equipment or home modifications which may assist the client to continue to live safely and independently in their home. Recommendations can include shower stools, over toilet frames and other personal care aids, scooters, wheelchairs, personal alarms, rails and ramps.

This service offers assessment and treatment to maximise patients' capacity for optimal engagement in meaningful occupations and activities of daily living. The following areas may be assessed: physical, sensory, psycho-social, neuro-behavioural/cognitive, environmental, vocational, driving. There is an occupational therapy service in most inpatient areas of the health service, except for women's health.

Western Health - Sunshine Hospital

Occupational Therapists working with children and their families, to help enhance skills necessary to participate in their activities of daily living. 
These skills include playing, drawing, handwriting, getting dressed, and toileting.
