The Personal Alarm Service provides clients with a personal alarm pendant that can activate a call if the person needs medical assistance. Red Cross has a number of different alarm programs, each of which has different eligibility criteria and costs.  Your information will be used to determine which program you may be eligible for and you will then be advised of the costs involved.  

There are no contracts involved with having a personal alarm, however when the alarm is no longer needed it can be cancelled and as soon as the alarm is returned to Red Cross the payments will stop. Australian Red Cross - ACT/SENSW

Personal Care assistance is provided to eligible individuals who have been assessed as having functional limitations in meeting their personal care needs. Personal Care assistance can include, but is not limited to showering, grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, and assistance with mobility. Service needs are assessed through an Intake & Assessment process designed to prioritise and assess individual client needs. A co-contribution, which is determined by the clients income is charged for services. Services are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 6:00am until 10.00pm. Service include: Quality in-home support, domestic assistance, home and gardening maintenance, respite for our Veterans and War Widows/Widowers and their carers in the ACT under the the Commonwealth Government Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program.

Trained home care and personal care workers can assist with  home duties, cooking, shopping, or personal care to assist following illness or hospitalisation or to help you stay in your own home and delay or avoid residential aged care admission.

A community health centre with services including HACC, District nursing, Meals on Wheels, health promotional activities, mini gym, fitness and health programs and 24/7 Accident and Emergency. Walwa Bush Nursing Service is a comprehensive primary health care facility with a 24/7 emergency department. Our services include HACC, palliative care, district nursing, health education, community car, out patients, case management, health promotion, community health, gym and associated programs, community centre, meals on wheels and planned activity group. The centre also has the Walwa Medical Practice on-site offering full general practice services, webster packing and pharmacy. The BNC also has a community bank, and technology centre.

Avec Care can provide private services at an hourly rate or by quote. Services include but are not limited to: Cleaning,help with showering, medication assistance, shopping assistance, transport, social activities, looking after loved ones to give the carer/s a break, short to medium term accommodation, gardening, home maintenance.
