Community and Primary Care Services
Work in conjunction with clients and coordinate care with local GP service providers, the hospital and other health care providers for the following services;
o Management of complex wounds (assessments, dressings and advice)
o Palliative Care Nursing and support
o Home-based nursing care (for eligible clients)
o Immunisations for eligible clients
o Referrals to other health care providers to assist with self-management, disease education and support e.g. Cardiac, Diabetes, Kidney and Respiratory conditions.

The service provides health information, education and support to students and teachers to assist them in identifying health issues and to work with them to develop school programs. The service also helps parents support their childs understanding of health and wellbeing. Health Promotion Nurses work within the NT urban secondary schools
Health Promotion Officer
The Health Promotion Officer provides education and support to remote communities within the Katherine Region. Health Promotion is provided in schools, community groups and to individuals in collaboration with Department of Health, remote health staff.
