Additional Information:
The purpose of this service is to provide early intervention support to people who are at risk of homelessness, in order to maintain their tenancies.
The service provides assistance to clients to avoid issues that may result in a situation of homelessness. This is achieved through increased access to relevant services and social support systems within the community, to address the issues that put their tenancies at risk.
Clients are supported for up to six months, depending on client need. In some instances, a longer time frame may be required.
Support is provided collaboratively with other agencies in the homelessness and wider service sector, through assisted referral and advocacy to appropriate services.
Objectives:
Provide support to people living in both private rental and public housing.
Utilise a case management approach to assist clients.
Provide flexible and co-ordinated service delivery including outreach support, home-visiting and after- hours assistance to facilitate client access to support.
Provide culturally appropriate responses to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Work collaboratively with other agencies in the homelessness and wider service sector, including real estate agents, tenancy advice and advocacy services, health services, local Department of Communities, Housing area offices, Centrelink, schools and gambling help services.
