Drug and Alcohol Program (DAP) is a unique woman centred and gender sensitive approach to alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling, which offers women and their families a safe, respectful, responsive and accessible counselling experience.
Services Provided
• Counselling
Individual, couple or family counselling for women, struggling with their own or a significant other's use.
• Groups
A range of therapeutic and educational groups are offered by DAP, providing a great way for women to gain additional support from other's experiencing similar difficulties, while at the same time, learning new skills.
• Getting Off & Staying Off (GOSO)
A four week (women only) brief intervention group which aims to strengthen motivation to overcome drug and alcohol issues.
• PEPISU Women & Children's Program
PEPISU provides counselling, information, outreach, group activities including family and social recreational opportunities and referrals for women who are pregnant and/or parenting and have alcohol and other drug issues and to their children and families.
• Minding Our Moods – 8 Week Group
This group explores emotional difficulties, such as depression and anxiety, identifying triggers and exploring how we can better 'mind our moods'.
• PEPISU Mums' group (Creche available)
Every Tuesday morning, between 10am and 12noon. Providing peer support and a variety of interactive workshops and physical activities, which are chosen by group participants, such as Zumba, beading, baby and children's basic first aid and pampering sessions.
• Families
Research and practical experience shows family involvement can assist people to overcome addiction issues.
• Diversion/Justice Program
Women's Health & Family Services is a preferred treatment provider of WA Diversion Programs. Providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic support services for women (and their families) involved in WA Court Diversion or Justice Programs.
Pre-sentence Opportunity (POP), Supervised Treatment Intervention (STIR) & Drug Court (DCR) referrals are offered individual, couple or family counselling. They may also opt to engage in the GOSO group, as a stand-alone AOD program or alongside counselling.
