Additional Information: Our Podiatrists provide and diagnose an extensive range of foot and foot related care. This includes checking how people walk and recommending custom orthotics. Checking children's feet and walking. Our Podiatrists can perform assessments to check blood flow and sensation. They also perform annual diabetes foot assessments and manage foot ulcers. If needed surgery can be performed on ingrown toe nails. The Podiatry team also run a medical grade footwear fitting program.

The Speech Pathologist provides extensive services to children under school age and to adults.
Community Health Paediatric Speech Pathology provides services to children with mild to moderate difficulties in functional skills in the areas of speech and language that are not likely to have long term implications for the child. Children with stuttering difficulties are also eligible for these services. Services may be provided on an individual basis or in a group therapy setting dependent on the child's needs.
Children with diagnosed or suspected developmental delays such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy or moderate to severe difficulties in two or more areas are not eligible for services through Community Health (see Paediatric Program Melton Health).
Adult services at community health are provided for clients experiencing communication or swallowing issues. This may be due to progressive neurological conditions, post stroke or disability. Therapy services for voice and fluency are also provided. Intensive rehabilitation services are not able to be provided due to limited staffing. Services may be centred based or provided in the client's home.

The Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies program is a community outreach service providing support, linkages and education to pregnant women who are unable to access antenatal care services or require additional support during their pregnancy and up to 6 weeks post delivery.
Women who are pregnant and live in the City of Melton or Moorabool Shire and are considered socially disadvantaged, geographically isolated, from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds, of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent or less than 18 years of age.

Additional Information: The Chronic Conditions Management program is available to those in the community who require an exercise based rehabilitation program for lung and cardiac conditions. The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation groups are run under best practice guidelines set down by the National Heart Foundation and Australian Lung Foundation. They provide education and exercise sessions for patients with pulmonary disease and for Outpatient (Phase 2) and Maintenance (Phase 3) patients. All patients access this program will be assessed by a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist prior to entry into the group programs.

The Family Violence Prevention Program (FVPP) is an integrated program with components designed to meet the needs of children, women, and men who have been affected by issues of family violence.
Separate services for children, women and men, but family sessions are available where appropriate.
Services include group programmes and/or individual counselling for children and women, and men's behaviour change group programmes for men. Partners/ex-partners/family members of men in the programme are also offered support.
Childcare is provided to all programs at no cost to the client.
Self-referrals are accepted or from General Practitioner or other health professionals.

Additional Information: The Occupational Therapist (OT) will visit clients in their home and complete a home and functional assessment to identify any activities they may be having difficulty with. The OT can recommend aids, equipment or home modifications which may assist the client to continue to live safely and independently in their home. Recommendations can include shower stools, over toilet frames and other personal care aids, scooters, wheelchairs, personal alarms, rails and ramps. The OT can work together with the client in retraining in daily activities. The OT can also provide clients with information and strategies to reduce falls and teach simplified techniques to decrease tiredness. Statewide Equipment Program (SWEP) funding applications for recommended equipment or home modifications can also be completed if required.

The Melton Youth Health Clinic provides a general health and medical drop-in service for young people. Issues such as sexual health, relationships, nutrition and mental health, alcohol and other drugs and a range of other health areas can be discussed with the counsellor and/or youth friendly Doctor. The clinic is staffed by two counsellors and a doctor from Westcare Medical Centre.The Backdoor Clinic is located at The Melton Youth Facility, 193 Barries Road, Melton West on Thursdays between 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.

The Dietetic Service provides individual and group education for adults and children. All requests and referrals for information and consultation should be directed to the Referral and Appointment Service.
Community Education, Health Promotion and Health screenings are offered through community groups, schools and the media. Focus is given to Government Health Promotion weeks and expressed community need.
All age groups are catered for and key areas of work include clients with diabetes and heart disease, weight management, gastrointestinal disorders, appetite awareness and body image, and general healthy eating.
A child and adolescent weight management clinic called 'Ready Steady Go' is available at Melton Health.
