* 3 primary doses are recommended for all people aged 6 months or older with severe immunocompromise.

For most people, a primary vaccination course consists of 2 doses. A third primary dose may be recommended for people aged 6 months or older with severe immunocompromise, weak immune system, disability or complex and/or multiple health conditions.

The recommended interval between doses will depend on the type of vaccine used and your age group.

For people aged 12 and older, a protein-based vaccine called Nuvaxoid is available as an alternative to the more commonly used mRNA vaccines, but this is not preferred. Your doctor or immunisation provider can advise you on which vaccine you need for your primary course.
