Fever and rashes (in babies)

It's normal for babies to develop skin rashes from as early as a few days old, as their skin adapts to a new environment. Some common rashes include milia, eczema, nappy rash and ringworm. Some rashes can indicate a more serious disorder such as meningitis. Any child appearing very ill, especially if there is a rash needs to be seen urgently by a doctor. Rapid treatment may be lifesaving.
