This is a Nurse-led Urgent Care Centre that accepts adult and paediatric emergencies but does not have 24/7 medical cover.

As there is no publicly funded after hours medical service at South Gippsland Hospital, face to face consultations will be at a cost to the patient to cover services provided by the doctor on call. Charges will also be made should you require X-rays, pathology tests and transport.

This Urgent Care Service (UCS) provides initial resuscitation and a limited stabilisation capacity prior to early transfer to an RTS or MTS. 

The UCS has nursing staff in attendance 24/7 who will contact the doctor on call if required. The Hospital does not employ General Practitioners at the UCS - A FEE WILL BE CHARGED BY THE DOCTOR FOR MEDICAL SERVICES provided at the Hospital and patients will be charged for the costs of any investigations. It is recommended that members of the public attend the Hospital only in an emergency. 

Fees apply for Pathology, Radiology and Ambulance services.

Gippsland Southern Health Service - Leongatha Hospital

URGENT CARE CENTRE

Provides initial resuscitation and a limited stabilisation capacity prior to early transfer to an RTS or MTS.

Minor Injury and Illness Clinic

Doctor and a nurse available 24 hours, 7 days a week to  provide care for people presenting with minor ailments such as minor cuts and burns, ear aches, fevers, sprains/strains, rashes and infections.
