The Planned Activity Groups (Day Centres) are an Italian specific service that provides a warm, caring, friendly environment where people can enjoy socialising and participating in various culturally appropriate activities.  The Primary aim of each of our centres is to support family carers of frail older Italians including those with dementia, who are either currently working or who wish to return to the workforce.  During their time at the centre our clients are assisted by qualified bilingual staff.

Aromatherapy
Craftwork
Cooking
story telling
Games and entertainment
Occasional Mass
Meals - the daily program also includes morning and afternoon tea and a healthy, hearty Italian meal for lunch.
Transport: if required, taxi transport to and from the centre can be provided and is arranged by centre staff who will also ensure that they accompany the clients to and from the vehicle.

Following a Living at Home Assessment (LAHA) and if a person is eligible for Home and Community Care (HACC) services, Planned Activity Group (PAG) services may be provided if there is a need.  The service aims to assist people who may be socially isolated to maintain and enhance their social activities and interaction through the provision of social support, activity-based and recreational programs.  The service seeks to develop and/or maintain a person's skills, abilities or interests wherever possible.  PAG services may also be provided to assist a carer to manage their caring responsibilities by providing them with a break from their caring role.  Fees apply for this service and are set according to income.

The major goal of the Planned Activity Groups is to support an individual's ability to live at home and in the community by providing a planned program of activities. The program also offers the opportunity for social interaction as well as respite and support for carers.
