The role of the Interim Support Worker position is to provide a bridge between ChildFIRST and Integrated Family Services allocation. The position supports the notion of 'getting in early' to prevent further escalation of issues/crisis. This position is an early intervention and prevention strategy, by providing capacity to support those who have been identified as requiring immediate intensive support. This position has the potential to successfully attend to the needs of families in a short period of time which may result in less cases progressing onto Family Support.
Eligibility: Families must have children aged up to 18 years old or an unborn child that may be vulnerable or at risk and must reside within one of the five Local Government areas of Hindmarsh, Yarriambiack, West Wimmera, Northern Grampians or Horsham Rural City.
