When does it operate?
Rurallink operates 4.30pm – 8:30am Monday to Friday and 24 hours Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
During business hours you will be connected to your local community mental health clinic.
How does it work?
Rurallink gives easy telephone access to experienced community mental health staff, with a focus on supporting people with mental health issues. It is a confidential service meeting the needs of the community and delivering continuous care and support where needed.
Who should use this service?
Rurallink helps people deal with depression, suicide, anxiety, psychosis, mental health issues or mental health crisis.
Clients and carers
New and existing clients can get information, advice, assessment and assistance to access appropriate services and carer support.
Members of the community
Rurallink offers help quickly, providing a single point of contact for after-hours information, advice, assessment and/or referral. Where necessary, it provides access to appropriate mental health services or follow up.
Health professionals and community welfare service providers
Medical practitioners, health professionals and community and welfare service providers can access after-hours telephone support, information and advice on mental health matters.
