Diversional Therapy Australia (DTA) is the only professional body representing Diversional Therapists, Recreation Therapists, Activities Officers, Lifestyle Coordinators and other specifically trained professionals and workers. DT practice provides psycho-social care and support, that can be experienced therapeutically and relationally, giving access, education and direct leisure experience to those with a barrier to leisure in hospital, residential, private home and community settings. DTA is a national not-for-profit organisation.
Diversional Therapy practice involves, physical, mental, social, psychological and spiritual aspects of person-centred wellness. It is the only Allied Health profession operating through the medium of leisure - in all its forms. It involves both individual and group practice. DTA does not directly provide DT services but can provide a list of members practicing privately on request.
