The Supporting Carer Program at Latrobe City Council is a program provided to elderly carers aged 65 years or older, not accessing significant formal supports. The program aims to assist carers to remain supported, informed and socially connected whilst in the role of a carer. The program delivery can vary and consideration is given to feedback from participants. The program will be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of individual Carers. The program includes: · Group weekends away throughout the year · Peer Support · Social Catch-ups · Guest speakers · Education to support carer needs · Opportunities for social support networks · Individualised respite planning · Referral and Information to other opportunities. Trips away are only annual. Social catch ups are monthly. Call up anytime Mon – Fri. 8.30 – 5.15pm and ask to speak to the flexible respite officer.
