When you arrive at our consulting rooms for your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly staff. After registering your attendance we will request your x-rays and referral letter from your referring dentist or GP. All new patients must then fill in a personal and medical information form; this information is kept strictly confidential and is added to your patient file.
You will then be introduced to your surgeon who will discuss the recommended treatment for your particular case. Once a course of treatment has been determined by your surgeon and yourself, a decision is made whether you will require a local anaesthetic, general anaesthetic or IV sedation.
If a decision is made to book you in at our day surgery (Canberra Surgicentre) in Braddon, our staff will direct you to our day surgery reception where our friendly nursing staff will prepare you a written quotation and estimate of costs for your surgery. Our staff will also assist in finding you a suitable surgical date.
If your surgeon advises that your procedure will need to be booked at either National Capital Private Hospital or Calvary Private or Public Hospital, you will be directed to our external hospital bookings area where you will complete hospital admission paperwork and receive an estimated cost for your surgical procedure. Our staff will also provide you with information that pertains to each external hospital individually.
Please remember to bring your referral letter, X-rays (if required), Medicare card and private health fund card along to your appointment. Our consulting rooms have EFTPOS as well as HICAPS facilities available to allow for on the spot claims to your health fund.
