All RFDS bases with aircraft provide emergency air transport services.
The Adelaide Base and its team of pilots and flight nurses provide 24-hour emergency retrievals and interhospital transfers. Inter-hospital transfer involves the aeromedical transport of patients between hospital facilities.
RFDS Central Operations operates three aeromedical bases in Adelaide, Port Augusta and Alice Springs and two primary healthcare facilities in Marree and Tennant Creek.
