Additional Information:
Walk-in Centres help people get free, one-off treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. You can see an experienced Registered Nurse for advice, assessment and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries such as cuts and bruises, minor infections, strains, sprains, skin complaints and coughs and colds. If necessary, you'll be redirected to the most appropriate healthcare professional.
Children under 2 years and people with complex or serious conditions should see their General Practitioner.
Wait times vary depending on the number of clients ahead of you in the queue. As there is no need to make an appointment at the Walk-in Centre, this can change throughout the day.
For serious illness or injury requiring urgent attention, call 000 for an ambulance or go to the Emergency Department. If you or someone else experiences severe breathing difficulties, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, call 000 for an ambulance or go to the nearest hospital Emergency Department. Similarly, for head injuries - with loss of consciousness, severe chest pains or severe allergic reactions, call an ambulance or go to ED.
Healthdirect Australia is a free 24-hour telephone health advice line that operates seven days a week. It is staffed by Registered Nurses who provide expert health advice. Call healthdirect to find out your nearest GP, pharmacist, dentist or support group and to access your local out-of-hours healthcare provider. Call 1800 022 222 for free expert advice and reassurance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
