Counselling is provided for sexual concerns in women or men, difference in levels of sexual desire with your partner, sexual identity, living with the effects of homophobia, sexual assault or child sexual abuse, living with sexually transmitted infections, termination of pregnancy - pre and post termination issues, sexual issues associated with disabilities. Working with communities in greatest need - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, teenagers, young adults, people from rural and remote areas, diverse CALD backgrounds, same sex attracted (GLBTIQS) people and people with disabilities and those with low socio-economic status.
Rural clients can phone to arrange for a telephone counselling appointment. The counsellor will then call you at the pre-arranged time.
There may be a waiting time for appointments, as there is often a high demand for counselling. However, some issues such as unplanned pregnancy are considered a priority and arrangements will be made to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

The clinical teams at SHINE SA include medical officers and registered nurses providing high quality services to their community, including contraception services, pregnancy testing, counselling and referral, information on safer sex and sexuality issues, screening for breast changes and Pap smears, STI testing, management and referral, women's health issues.
