Occupational Therapy for Children (Public)
DESCRIPTION
Assessment and therapy for children focusing on fine and gross motor skills, attention and listening, sensory processing, play and self help skills. Usually on site one to one, but some school/kinder/home visits are offered. Groups are also offered in conjunction with Maternal and Child Health Nurses and other children's service providers at Inner East.
Group Programs offered include:
• Parent-Child Mother Goose: is a parent and child rhyme, song and storytelling group aimed at increasing the interaction between parents and their 0-2 year old children. This group is run by the Maternal and Child Health Service within Boorondara and supported by IECHS.
• Busy Bodies – A play based, parent training group therapy program for children aged 2-3 years with play, motor and communication delays.
• School Readiness – A group therapy program for children who have attended the service for Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy to facilitate transition to school.
ELIGIBILITY
Individual sessions are for children up to 12 years of age.
Priority is given to families whose parents live, work or study or their children attend school, preschool or child care in the City of Boroondara.
COST
No fee for Low Income or Health Care Card Holders
$14 Medium Income
$100 High Income
Income status is determined at the time that your initial appointment is made.
Group fees vary from no fee to $100
