The community health nurse runs a Well Women's Clinic which:
* provides women with pap smears;
* teaches women how to undertake breast self-examination; and
* covers other general health issues relevant to women, such as pelvic floors exercises, menopause, and sexual health.
PAP SMEARS
Pap tests are available with a Pap test provider, Community Health Nurse at MRHS. The Pap test (or Pap Smear) is a quick and simple test used to check for changes to the cells of the cervix that may lead to cervical cancer.
The Pap test is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. This means that women without symptoms are tested at regular intervals (every 2 years) to check for abnormal changes in the cells of the cervix. Most Pap test results are normal.
Please phone for an appointment...........don't make an excuse, make an appointment.

A Guide to Powers of Attorney and Guardianship
Being in control of our lives and the decision we make is important to us all. But sometimes things happen that mean we don't have quite as much control as we like. The law in Victoria gives you a number of ways to help ensure you have maximum control over how decisions are made when you are not in a position to make those decisions yourself.
'Take Control' is a booklet that explains the different arrangements you can make and how to set them up.
A copy of 'Take Control' is available from the Office of the Public Advocate on 1300 309 337 or via their website.

Keeping Your Balance
'Falls' are a leading cause of increasing disability in older people. The impact on independence levels and quality of life can be immense. This class is designed to increase your flexibility, strength, mobility, coordination and balance.
'Falls' are not a natural part of the ageing process. They can be prevented! Statistics show that 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will fall every year and seven out of ten people who fall will sustain an injury.
This functional activity program is a lot of fun, including the use of hand weights, obstacle courses, ball games, fit balls, Tai Chi and specific balance exercises.
