Ten new medicines to treat a range of illnesses, from rare forms of cancer to skin conditions, will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) from 1 April.
According to the Minister for Health, Peter Dutton, improved access to these medicines would benefit many Australians and particularly families with sick children.

New medicines for diabetes, growth hormone deficiency and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (a type of cancer) have been approved for listing on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
Announced on 27 February 2014, Minister for Health Peter Dutton said the PBS subsidies would make the medicines more affordable for Australians who needed them.
Patients with diabetes who use a combination of two medicines will benefit from the new listing of combined medicines.
