NDS is the national industry association for disability services, representing over 600 not-for-profit organisations. Collectively, our members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability. NDSs purpose is to increase the capacity of its members to meet relevant industry and government standards - through the provision of information and advice, networking opportunities and access to corporate support; and to influence governments at both state/territory and federal levels to provide a policy environment that is responsive to the needs of people with disability and their service providers. National Disability Services Queensland

Provides supports to children and young adults with physical disabilities, neuromuscular conditions, developmental delay and autism. Provides Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Support Coordination and Social Work support, along with Short Stay Accommodation and a Lifestyle & Leisure service. Registered NDIS provider.

Alina Families Program works alongside families where one or both parents describe themselves as being 'slower at learning' or as having 'difficulty understanding things straight away'. Many workers describe parents who 'take longer to learn' as having a learning disability. Alina Families Program sees families as any mix of child/ren and adult/s living together or supporting each other. Family work is offered to families who live on the northside of Brisbane, within 20 minutes drive of the Alina office. The program works from a strength based approach - working towards the family's picture of how they want things to be; Making a safe & happy place for everyone in the family; Focusing on what families are doing that works well for them and Valuing & respecting families. Alina will work with or on behalf of families to address barriers that they may face.

Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association

Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association operates an inclusive fitness and rehabilitation facility at its Brisbane headquarters (Bowen Hills). 

The centre is wheelchair accessible with modified equipment to suit all abilities, including people with high support needs.

Gym members with a disability can be easily linked into community based sport and healthy activity opportunities.

CLA works with people with cognitive disabilities (including intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, foetal alcohol syndrome and behavioural disabilities); young people at risk of homelessness and leaving school early; who live on the north side of Brisbane from the city to Caboolture and within the Deception Bay and Redcliffe areas. Volunteers welcome.

Community Living Association

Supported Accommodation - Fee includes 3 meals per day, morning and afternoon tea and supper, linen laundered and room cleaned weekly, wheelchair access; assistance with medication; continence management; doctor visits weekly, visiting pathologist; assistance with budgeting; assistance with contacting other services; assistance with personal hygiene and support where required.

Accommodation and support for persons with a disability

TADQ takes requests from therapists and individuals to adapt or modify existing items, or to fully create new ones. This project work is done by highly-skilled Technical Volunteers for the cost of materials. Recent TADQ projects include grocery winches, fold-down shower seats, hair-dryer stands, writing aids; tricycle modifications, extended easels, and tactile floor modules for children. More Volunteers are needed!!!
