mecwacare Home Nursing and Care Services South East Metro Service

Our services ensure someone is available to assist if the need arises, which may be for a few hours, a day, a night or even weeks. Respite is a way of relieving the stress of being a carer. We understand it is important for carers to make time for themselves.
mecwacare provides overnight or longer live-in care to clients whose regular carer cannot be in attendance or if they simply need a break. We can provide 24-hour live-in care to clients who may require a higher level of support or supervision, and we understand the importance of placing the right person in your loved one’s home for long-term care.

Tandem

Services include advocacy and support for mental health carers. Tandem is the peak body for mental health families and other carers in Victoria.

Services including rehabilitation medicine, acquired brain injury rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, general and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation

Dementia specific planned activity and day respite program. Incorporating italian specific programs, and going out club.

BASS Care Maranoa House

Carers' group for those caring for someone over 60. Meets on the third Friday every month

Services including aged welfare and support groups including exercise

The National Continence Helpline is a free telephone advisory service funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. This service is available to anyone residing within Australia, and may be accessed from Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 8.00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. 
 
The National Continence Helpline is staffed by a team of continence nurse advisors who provide information, education and advice to callers with incontinence or who are caring for someone with incontinence. The Helpline also provides information and advice to health professionals.
 
Common topics covered by the Helpline include:
 
–        Pregnancy (pre natal and post natal);
–        Prostate;
–        Bedwetting;
–        Chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes, overweight and obesity, MS, Parkinson's disease, etc.);
–        Funding schemes, and
–        Products.
 
The Helpline also provides information about:

–	The assessment and diagnosis of incontinence;
–	Treatment options;
–	Management advice, including product information and advice;
–	Information about funding schemes to offset some of the costs associated with continence products;
–	Details of local continence service providers, product suppliers and product manufacturers;
–	Details of related funding schemes such as the Australian Government's Carer's Allowance, and
–	Access to a wide range of free information brochures, including brochures in languages other than English.
