Following a Living at Home Assessment (LAHA) and if a person is eligible for Home and Community Care (HACC) services, Respite Care may be provided if there is a need.  The service aims to assist carers to manage their caring role by providing appropriate regular assistance to the person they care for to allow them to have a break.  The service may be provided in the home or in the community.  Respite Care services may include a component of Personal Care dependent on the individual situation and circumstances.  Respite Care is not provided on a one-off or ad hoc basis.  Fees apply for this service and are set according to income.

We provide enjoyable, stimulating and affordable programs for your loved one – to give you a break from your caring role. Our carer support program offers social support and wellbeing activities that are provided in the person’s home, or at one of our centres for people aged 65 and above.

The carer has a choice of a trained personal care worker to provide in home respite or if preferred the option of having access to a centre based weekend Planned Activity Group.  This group is held at the CO AS IT Day Care Centre at Assisi in Rosanna every Saturday.  A care coordinator is available to discuss any specific needs.
