Belconnen Community Service (BCS) facilitates two social programs:

BEST Club is a weekly program offering an opportunity to socialise with others in a friendly and stimulating environment. This group is held every Tuesday at the West Belconnen Leagues Club.

Positive Links is a weekly group offering activities and opportunities for men and women of all ages who have survived a stroke or a physical life changing experience. We especially welcome anyone who has felt isolated at home and wants to join a group for company and friendship.

Both groups are facilitated by a staff coordinator and volunteers.  To discuss eligibility and find out more about Social Groups please phone Belconnen Community Service on 6264 0200.

BELCONNEN COMMUNITY SERVICE INC

Services include: Belconnen Community Services Inc (BCS) is a not-for-profit community organisation providing high quality integrated and inclusive service to families, children, and young people in the Belconnen region.  We support the community through our transport services, mental health services, counselling, accomodation assistance, social groups, case management and various leisure/fitness programs. Red Cross provides two services for people who wish to receive a friendly social visit on a regular basis- the MATES program, and the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS).
We can match each client with a volunteer who has similar interests to them and is able to spend time enjoying activities that you enjoy. The programs aim to enrich the independence and quality of life for older people and people with a disability living in the community
Our MATES program works with people who enjoy a friendly face coming to visit them in their home, or to take them out for a visit to trip in their community. Clients and volunteers also hold social groups to share new connections with others in the program. 
Our Community Visiting Service (CVS) is a free program works with people who reside in nursing homes or residential care, who would like to meet new people and share a friendly conversation or group activity with one of our volunteers. We can also visit people in their home, or to take them out for a visit to trip in their community, and can provide services to people in South East NSW as well as the ACT.
	
All of our volunteers are specially matched to each client, and are trained to a high standard. Our volunteers receive consistent excellent feedback from our clients and their families. 

The MATES program attracts an annual subscription fee to support the cost of recruiting, training and supporting volunteers. Payment plans may be arranged for self-funded subscribers. CVS is a free service.

Australian Red Cross - ACT/SENSW

Services include: The Australian Red Cross has several community services such as Meals on Wheels, TeleCHAT, Telecross, Meditrak, Blood Service, Personal Alarm Service and various other visitor programs that are designed to improve the lives of vulnerable people in Canberra.

Blue Mountains Volunteer Home Visitors

Social support service including home visits, one-to-one shopping, home library service, reading & writing.

Aged Care Services

We offer a range of Aged Care Services to residents of the South Eastern Sydney region. These services can be divided into two separate program areas; Kogarah Neighbour Aid which provides a range of social activities for older people and Dementia Monitoring Services, which is a wider reaching service for people who have been diagnosed with Dementia or are experiencing some problems with memory loss. This service caters for people living in the wider St George area. We also run a specialised Dementia Monitoring Service for people who are from non English speaking backgrounds. This is our Multicultural Dementia Monitoring Service where we provide a culturally and linguistically appropriate based service to Greek, Arabic, Macedonian, Chinese, Italian and Spanish speaking clients.

Our Home and Community Care (HACC) programs are supported by the Department of Health and Aging DoHA with additional financial support form the Department of Family and Community Services, Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC). Our programs are designed to assist individuals residing at home with a sense of comfort and safety and help prevent premature admission into residential care. The social activities focus on friendship and companionship.

Epilepsy Association, trading as Epilepsy Action Australia

Epilepsy Action Australia is a leading national service provider offering vital and often life saving support and services to more than half a million Australians who will be affected by epilepsy in their lifetime. We are guided by our vision of providing optimal living for people with epilepsy. 
Our highly skilled Educators and Service Consultants assist thousands of children, adults and their families accept and adjust to a diagnosis of epilepsy.
Services including education and support to children and adults with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. Epilepsy Action Online Academy and My Epilepsy Diary are included in these services and can be accessed Australia wide.

Additional Info: The Homecare hot line is available to assist clients with their service needs. The hot line is manned Monday to Friday during office hours at other times including weekends the phone will go to answering machine- the answer machine is checked regularly.
