Noosa Community Support

Offers older frail people, persons with dementia, younger people with a disability, and their carers, an individualised service that enhances independence and enables people to remain living within the community. Available to residents of the Noosa and Hinterland areas, who are aged over 65 years ( 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) or someone aged under 65 years with a disability. Noosa Community Support values the diversity within communities and we provide inclusive services to eligible people, including people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersexual people who are financially and/or socially disadvantaged.Noosa Community Support (NCS), formerly Noosa Day Respite Centre, opened in 1992 and has provided valuable services to thousands of Noosa residents. The principle of wellness and reablement underpins the work at NCS which assumes that everyone has the capacity to improve. We plan services in partnership with clients and their carers, focusing and building on what people can do, whilst also acknowledging the things they find challenging. NCS aims to improve and develop an individual's capacity to undertake activities, and where this is not achievable, to maintain their current capacity.
