The Wound Clinic provides a nursing service that specialises in wound care management. Leg ulcers fall into different categories and the treatment between each varies considerably. An accurate diagnosis of the cause of each ulcer enables the appropriate treatment to be commenced.
The District Nursing Wound Clinic provides the following services:
Diagnosis of venous and arterial leg ulcers and initiation of appropriate treatment.
Treatment of acute and chronic wounds.
Specialised compression bandaging used for the treatment of venous leg ulcers.
Fitting of compression socks and stockings for the control of swelling in the lower legs, treatment of varicose veins and leg ulcers and prior to flying to prevent the incidence of deep vein thrombosis.
