Bendigo Health CHSP Respite Service
Bendigo Health Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) Respite Service works with other organisations to plan and arrange respite options under a brokerage model of service delivery.
The programme helps frail, older people (65 years and over, or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) who are living in the community in the Loddon Mallee Region of Victoria, to maximise their independence taking into account each person's individual goals, preferences and choices.
The Programme also supports the care relationship between clients and their carers who provide the support necessary to help the older person to stay at home.
The programme recognises and works with special needs groups, which align with those identified under the Aged Care Act 1997.
