By visiting people in their homes, the St Vincent de Paul Society aims to help people break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage and are part of a continuing friendship assisting an individual or family through crisis like unemployment, eviction, personal injury and loss. Material assistance in the form of food, bill payment, furniture, clothing and household goods is often in cooperation with the local Vinnies Centre. Upon request individuals and families are referred to other appropriate agencies for counselling and further assistance
