Dr Sim Hom Tam has a caring and knowledgeable approach to gynaecology, providing diagnosis, treatment and care for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions.
Many gynaecological conditions can be embarrassing and restrictive to your lifestyles. Menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalances, prolapse and urinary incontinence are just some of the common condition which Dr Tam manages. Not all these conditions need surgeries. Dr Tam usually prefers utilising the more conservative management options first.
Dr Tam also manages and treat pap smear abnormalities, colposcopy, family planning and contraceptive advices such as the combine pills, progesterone only pills, implants and intrauterine devices. He also provides fertility and infertility advices and investigations.
Dr Tam has a special interest in minimally invasive surgeries and would opt for keyhole surgeries whenever possible. He utilises the laparoscopic method for management of conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids and hysterectomy (when vaginal method is not possible).

Dr Sim Hom Tam is dedicated to caring for you and your baby in the safest way possible, from conception to delivery and postnatal. Both uncomplicated and high risk pregnancies and deliveries can be managed by Dr Tam and includes women with pre-existing medical conditions, IVF pregnancies and complications that may develop during pregnancy. Having a young family of his own allows him to understand the challenges that each new parent faces and helps him provide a professional and yet personalised service to each individual patient.
Dr Tam usually see his obstetrics patients from around 13 to 14 week after the initial tests from your General Practitioner. However this can be changed according to your history or condition. Naturally he prefers to see you earlier if it was a high risk pregnancy.
Following that, the subsequent obstetrics visits are usually conducted at Bruce on Mondays and Tuesdays mornings. He is assisted by 3 very experienced midwives with years of experiences across the continents.
