The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service provides mental health services to children and young people up to 18 years and their families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or psychiatric problems.
Locally based, multi-disciplinary teams are located in the large centres across the Pilbara (Hedland, Karratha, and Newman). Outreach services are provided by each of these teams to surrounding towns, communities and remote areas.
Our preferred referral method is through your General Practitioner, however there are other referral options:
• Crisis and emergency services
• Other health services
• Community agencies
• Schools
• Private Psychiatrists or other doctors
• Yourself
• A relative, carer or friend

Eligibility: Services are available for Children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 years Adults aged 18 to 65 years Seniors aged 65 years and over and Senior Aboriginal persons 55 years and over.

Pilbara Mental Health Service (PMHS) provides specialist mental health services to the Pilbara region. The service aims to deliver a comprehensive range of recovery focused, quality, community treatment services to residents and visitors to the region.
