In 2001, the government of Victoria in conjunction with Ozanam house, Flagstaff and Hanover Southbank, (The three major Crisis Accommodation Services in Melbourne) have joined together to structure a Drug trial to assist individuals who are homeless and who also have substance abuse issues. The drug trial will last for three years and all the people who participate will be asked to be part of the research program that is attached to the trial.

Eligibility
Refererrals from within Ozanam house only.
The criteria for participating in the HDDT initiative are;
-Presented with difficulties related to substance abuse
-Currently residing or have resided at Ozanam House since January 2001.
How to become an HDDT participant- You will be allocated to a pirmary case manager who will work with you throughout your involvement in the trial. The Primary Case Manager will assist you with developing your Individual Treatment Plan and with accessing drug and alcohol, housing and other community support services. There is an opportunity to join the ADSA and Community Reintegration Program. They provide the following activities;
- Housing
- Therapy
- Employment & training
- Education
- Health & Social services

To address drug dependency issues.
Additional Information
Participants would also be asked to be part of the research project attached to the trial. Collated information will be confidential and anonymous. Participation can be discontinued or re-commenced at any point during the trial.
